WELCOME TO THE ACCOUNT SCOUTS
The Account Scouts has reached over 230 students in Pinellas County since its inception of March 24, 2022.
The Facts
The United States Census says that as of 2020, of the accountant population only 13.6% are Black (African-American).
The United States Census says that as of 2020, only 2% of Certified Public Accountants are Black or African-American. As of 2022, this rate increased to 8.8%.
The Account Scouts Academy is a contemporary, extracurricular, youth accounting program
that is going to expose minority youth and underprivileged communities to the fundamentals of business, finance, tax, audit and accounting.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Danelle Davis, CPA

Danelle Davis was born and raised in south Pinellas. Having served over 8 years in the corporate finance and accounting, Danelle has become dedicated to empowering the youth. She would like to see more diverse faces in business, finance and accounting, and she believes exposing the youth in communities that would not otherwise be exposed is key.

Why is it so hard to get out on your own and pay bills when you turn 18? It turns out no one ever told you how. With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies to teach our scouts how to get out in the real world and manage their money. Financial Literacy is something that we take very seriously, and our organization is working each and every day to help the youth understand it better.
